My Favorite Travel Shoes

Recently, my family and I went on a three-week trip to the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico! From treking through the jungle to walking miles through the city, these two pairs of shoes provided me with the support I needed while looking cute.

The Keen Women's Kona Flip Flops

These are by far my favorite flip-flops to exist! They are comfortable, cute, and offer great support for going off the beaten path. I have had a pair of these for at least five years, and they have held up great. During our trip, these were my go-to shoes for walking around town or going to the beach. On our busiest day, we probably walked about 3-5 miles through the city, and my feet barely hurt at all. I have never had any issues with blisters or rubbing. They also have a natural anti-odor foot bed, which allows you to go the whole day without your feet getting smelly from sweating. However, I will say that after having them for about 5-6 years, they have begun to wear down. These shoes are also on the pricery side ($75) if you buy them directly from the Keen website, however, you can always find them secondhand on platforms like Poshmark or Depop, or from another shoe provider. I also thought that it would only be fair to mention that I have an older version of the shoe and have yet to try out the newer one, but knowing Keen as a brand, I have no doubt in my mind that they only offer the best support without looking ugly. Highly recommend!
The Chaco Mega Z-Cloud Women's

As a girlie who is constantly in search of cute shoes for hiking and doing outdoor activities, the Chaco Mega Z-Cloud are my go-to! These shoes offer high arch support, a secure and personalized fit, and come in a variety of colors. I was originally planning on buying some Tevas for this trip, but I couldn't find my size or color that I wanted, so I took a shot in the dark and bought these Chacos, and I could not be more happy. As someone who is always in denial about how much support my ankles need, it was so refreshing to be able to walk through rough terrain and in water without my feet hurting at the end of the day. I also really like this style of Chaco because there is no toe hole (just something I personally dislike) and because the straps are thicker, offering a more supportive feel. These shoes are pretty expensive at full price ($105) if you get them brand new, directly from the Chaco website, which is another reason why I had originally wanted to buy Tevas as I could not afford Chacos. But when I made a stop at Sierra Trading Post, I was excited to find this pair of Chacos at an unbeatable price ($50, I think) and quickly bought them. The bottom line is that there are other options out there to get a discount price if you can't afford the full price. The one thing I disliked is that it takes a while for these shoes to break in; it takes time to adjust them to fit perfectly, and they only really work in situations where you don't need to cover your toes. If you want thorough foot support, a personalized fit and color, and have the ability to trek through water, I could not recommend the Chaco Mega-Z Cloud Women's more.
